The Old Town canoe with serial number 9163 is a 16 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, XX model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, ash decks, spruce thwarts, spruce seats, and a keel. It was built between May, 1908 and February, 1909. The original exterior paint color was dark red. It was shipped on June 29th, 1907 to Brooklyn, New York. This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
