Old Town 17196-16

The Old Town canoe with serial number 17196 is a 16 foot long, AA (or top) grade, HW (Heavy Water) model with red western cedar planking, closed spruce gunwales, mahogany decks, mahogany thwarts, mahogany seats, and a keel. It was built between March and August, 1911. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on August 9th, 1906 to Saybrook Point, Conn. This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
