Curious about Wooden Canoes
I find myself attracted to this little canoe but wonder exactly how I would use it. My knees and joints aren't well suited to paddling on my knees and my rather large, 260 pound hulk seems a little large for sitting on the seats and keeping the canoe trimmed. Are they suited at all to sitting on the floor with a backrest and using a double paddle? Not much sense in getting one if I can't really use it. Thanks!

Welcome, these are fun canoes but they weren't really designed to be paddled while sitting on the bottom. The sides may be a bit too high for that to be really comfortable and it would require a fairly long paddle. A good canoe seat or a saddle seat may help get you lower than the standard seat but slightly off the floor. I would encourage you to try paddling one from that position to see how it feels. Another option is to find another similar canoe with a roughly 36 inch width and 13 inch depth to see how it feels when paddling that way. Good luck,

Benson
