Hello everyone,I have started re-furbishing my 1941 Otca. My biggest challlenge so far was to fabricate new ribs. Island Falls supplied the blank white cedar ribs but I needed to shape and taper them. Bending will be the next challenge.
looks good. I use a stop block on my taper jig and hold the rib in place by hand. The clamps took too long when doing alot of ribs. I use the fence on the band saw. You'll find lots of info here on rib bending. Boiling or steaming works but you'll have better luck if you pre-soak them in water over night.
