Namekogan River in Wisconsin

Curious about Wooden Canoes
My wife and I are planning a fall color trip on the Namekagon River in Wisconsin. It is part of the St. Croix National Scenic River system. We have crossed it twice a year on our way to and from our summer cabin in Ontario for decades and always said we wanted to take a trip on it. Now that I have finished our Racine Chippewa, we are finally going to do it. We are planning three days and two nights on the river the last weekend of September or first weekend of October. For the folks in that area, does that sound like a good time for fall colors? What about water levels? We will be doing the lower part of the river before it enters the St. Croix, so I expect it to be OK (especially considering the wet summer we have had), but if any one has any insight, I would certainly appreciate it.
