Four chapters of the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association will be gathering at Gifford Pinchot State Park in Central Pennsylvania next weekend (Oct 8th -9th) for our annual mini-assembly. Members from the Delaware Valley, Three Rivers, Upper Chesapeake and Susquehanna Chapters will spend the weekend paddling and demonstrating some of our canoe building/restoration, paddle carving and various camping skills (both modern and traditional)
Members will be bringing canoes, both antique and new, to be on display for the public.
Many members will be camping in the park’s campground with most of them arriving Friday afternoon or evening. Come join us for the weekend or just stop in for the day. Our daytime activities will be at the Conewago Day Use Area of the park from 10-ish to 3-ish with something going on all of the time.
No need to be a WCHA member. Come join in the fun!
