Wooden Canoe Maniac
Looks like possibly 10318 very unsure about the 0 not stamped well enough. It has the splayed stem like a Morris but has the original Kennebec decal. Is this enough to date it ?

The Kennebec canoe with serial number 10318 is a 16 foot long Kennebec model type a with sponsons as shown on pages 444 and 445 of volume two in the Kennebec ledgers. It was planked by Sawyer on December 21st, 1915. The canvas covering was applied by Roy on the same day. Lanc added the first filler coat on the same day and the second one on February 28th, 1916. Doucette added the sponsons on December 24th, 1915. Harris added the rails on the March 28th, 1916. The original auto blue exterior painting was completed by Smith on March 31st, 1916. It shipped to John Wanamaker's department store in Philadelphia, Penna. on April 6th, 1916.

The microfilms and scans of these records were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) as you probably know well. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to renew.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match the canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
