If you mean built with a keelson and rib halves meeting along the centerline, then yes, it is as built.

What about the main ribs also meeting in the middle?

I had a 14 ft Sq Back a while back that was not like this, all the ribs were continuous side to side.

I don't recall if the ribs were discussed in this or one of the several other discussions about her boat or if it came up while we were looking a the boat in her garage? Regardless, that is the way these are built.

It actually came up in a forum post where I was trying to figure out what a keelson was (https://wcha.org/forums/index.php?t...length-interior-floor-piece.15997/#post-80830)

There is an older link embedded in that post (http://wcha.org/forums/index.php?threads/and-so-it-begins.2267/) and if you scroll down to the bottom you can see photos of an OT from 1942 that looks the same.

Thanks for the replies and pics, and yes, there it is.
I wonder why they used the split ribs on these when they used the full length rib on all other canoes.
And I wonder how it affects the strength.
