In celebration of Canadian Heritage Rivers Day (June 12th)

Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
In celebration of Canadian Heritage Rivers Day (June 12th), 21 of us paddled from the head (west end) of Lake Ontario to Toronto (Humber River) yesterday.
Fortunately, the weather cooperated. It was neither too hot nor too cold. The wind held off until late in the day. High cloud cover helped with the sun, again, until late in the day when we fried -you know, just when you're reaching total exhaustion/dehydration.
We did the approximately 45km trip in about 9 hours using 3 7-person north canoes (24 ft long).
