First step in rebuilding?

Finally almost done stripping two coats of paint and varnish on the inside of the canoe. Have to replace close to 19 ribs and too many rib tips, plus planking of course and one stem needs rebuilt and a completely new one made.

Where should I start first? I was think the ribs as I still have a loose fitting inside rail attached.

Thanks, Mike

(how do I rotate the pictures?) They are ok on my computer.

Stems first, inwales next, and then decks. That will determine the shape of the canoe. Ribs and/or planking after that with the thwarts in place.

Thanks Gil, This is my first canoe to restore. I'll build a form today for the stems and go from there.
