Welcome and congratulations, the Old Town with serial number 44599 is a 17 foot long Otca Model so that isn't a good match. My guess is that you have serial number 41599 which is a 16 foot long double end boat model in CS (Common Sense or the middle) grade with red Western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, birch decks, birch thwarts, birch seats, a keel, outside stems, a floor rack, and two painter rings. Sponsons were also noted but this may be an error since there is no sign of them ever being on the boat in your pictures. It was built between February and May, 1916. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It is shown as having shipped to Athol, Massachusetts on May 29th, 1915 but it seems likely that this year has a typographical error. A scan showing this build record can be found below.
This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See
http://www.wcha.org/about-wcha to learn more about the WCHA and

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your boat. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
