Canoe Year's Day - Chicago River

Not a "chapter happening" per se, but a reminder that the annual 4-mile Happy Canoe Year paddle takes place on Jan. 1, between 9 and 11 AM. It'll be terribly cold, somewhat uncomfortable, dangerous paddling conditions with the water just above freezing... and extremely fun.

I should note it was founded by our own Ralph Frese in 1985.

Had another great time today - thanks to everyone who took their time to staff the event.
My wife and I took our sister and her husband... who both enjoyed themselves as well.
