Build sheet request

ticonderoga

"Just one more"
Just back from the Assembly where my son picked up his first restoration project. Could I get the build sheet on #158532-16. Thanks

Congratulations, the Old Town canoe with serial number 158532 is a 16 foot long, AA (or top) grade, Otca model with a keel, and a floor rack. It was built between October, 1952 and January, 1953. The original exterior paint was bright red. It shipped on June 24th, 1953 to Pontiac, Michigan. A scan showing this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-wcha to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/store/membership to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Sorry for the delay, I'm a bit behind from being away at the Assembly last week. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

Benson, thanks so much for the accurate info that you always provide. This will be my son's first restoration by himself after helping me on a few. He is our target demographic at 25 years old. Joe

Seeing he wants to use my canoe area to restore his, and I have three in the que ahead of his, it will be awhile before he starts on his. Who am I kidding, my three will be bumped back and his will start soon I'm sure! But only after i finish my Rushton. Pictures will follow.
