LOVES Wooden Canoes
Last year we had a few folks show up and we had a nice paddle though part of it was in a steady rain. Still a nice time. This year my wife and I have reserved the Allen Lake shelter at Hartman Creek State Park near Waupaca, WI for Saturday, June 11th. We're planning on spending the morning paddling Allen Lake, displaying some wood canoes for people at the park, and then having a lunch around noon. After lunch we'll take the canoes over to the Upper Chain and paddle for a few hours. We have a campsite reserved on the lake for the weekend and if anyone wants to join us for an evening fire and perhaps a night paddle on a no motor lake...well, that should be the perfect end to a great day of paddling.

There is further information and maps available: here.

This is approaching quickly so I'm giving it a bump to the top. Hoping for good weather!

Thanks, Renee and Tim!

Fred and the dogs and I had a great time visiting with you and others. First time out with the dogs in the newly re-done canoe... a good time! I'll post some pictures. (The lake in these pictures is Allen Lake-- part of Hartman Creek State Park.)

Thank you so much for organizing this event!

Kathy

...and more!

Bert found some "cologne of the forest" to roll in! Always fun when the dogs are happy too.

Thanks for sharing the photos! It was an nice weekend. Renee and I paddled the upper chain on Sunday morning with the Old Town and there were only a couple of cars in the parking lot.
