1/4 inch brass stem band

I am working on a canoe with a very narrow stem and am looking for a source for 1/4 inch stem band. I have an old piece so I know it was once available but have had no luck with google.

Perhaps there is another industry that uses something that will work?

Any help would be appreciated.

Dan......I had a similar issue with a band for a JR Williams. I took a belt sander to both sides and quickly came up with the appropriate width. ...fun, NO expedient, YES. Wear a mask when you do it....lest you become a very brassy fellow. Dave
