Info on Old Town 182821-13 please

The Old Town with serial number 182821 is a 13 foot long light weight model with half ribs and a keel. It was built between March and April, 1969. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on May 6th, 1969 to Grand Rapids, Michigan. A scan of this build record and image of the serial number can be found by following the links at the attached thumbnail images below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-wcha to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/store/membership to renew.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match the canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

Thank you Benson. How was it that you were able to include a pic of the stem & serial #?

I suspect that you saw this listed in the same place that I did on March 31st. This one had some nice pictures of the original deck decal, side nameplate, seats, and serial numbers so I saved them for future reference. These can come in handy when trying to identify canoes that have had a much rougher life than this one. Good luck if you get it,

Benson

Good afternoon,
Can either of you send me the measurements for the proper bow and stearn seat placement on an OT 13’. My only reference is from the center thwart.
Thank you,
Jody

Jody - Sorry, I don't have the canoe in hand - I was asking serial # info for a friend. I did have a 13' 50 Pounder, but it was sold a few months ago.
